Requiring School Uniforms

As you begin to move beyond your initial outline and summary, your next step will be drafting. Drafting is a very important step in the writing process, but by no means should it be considered the final stage. In it you should focus on putting as much on paper as you can including your Purpose Statement (though it may eventually change), your supporting evidence, and analysis of the evidence. It is less important to worry about having all the correct words and punctuation as it is to work hard to express as much as you can about the topic. When you have completed the Rough Draft, you should be 90% done with the Final Project.

If it helps, think back to when you drafted your purpose statement in your outline. How has your work up to this point worked toward solving the issue you have identified? What have you unearthed as you have dug into your topic? Addressing similar questions to those from the earlier assignment in your introduction may help you find direction in your draft: What is the problem? When does the problem occur? Who and/or what does it affect? What are the potential solutions for the problem? How can you present the solution(s) in a fair way to your audience, respecting their perspective(s)?

Your rough draft will consist of the bulk of your proposal’s content, and should include your proposal broken into four sections: Purpose: Indicate the purpose statement and scope of your problem – tell us what you will be solving and why you believe it is an important issue. Problem: Share what the actual problem is and any history that you have regarding it or additional problems that will branch from this initial problem. Solution: Provide what your solution(s) to the problems are, and outline the steps that you think are needed to get to the solution. Conclusion: Wrap it all up and provide a conclusion to the reader. Be sure to engage your reader by applying effective organization, appropriate tone, and clear usage.

Also, provide a reference page with a minimum of four references properly formatted in APA style. At least two of your references should be scholarly sources. At this stage, the draft should be between 3-to-5 pages plus the reference page.

Discussion 2 19843165

A “gender lightbulb moment” is a time you became aware of being treated differently because of your gender.  For example, a girl not being allowed to play football, or a boy being told he shouldn’t play with dolls.  It could encompass anything from the toys you were allowed to play with, being aware of different rules for boys and girls, and feeling uncomfortable because of your gender in a certain situation.  You may also consider the concept of gender fluidity, in which individuals do not necessarily commit or conform to the gender code that they were assigned.

For this forum: Please provide your “gender lightbulb moment” and reflect on how this experience might have affected you. As an educator, what are some ways that sex role stereotyping and gender biasing can be countered?  How will you establish your classroom to avoid these pitfalls? Provide a link to an article or news story that illustrates some of the negative effects of gender biasing and briefly discuss the implications of the article/story you have posted.

Be sure to include properly cited scholarly sources.

Week 6 Final Project Parent Involvement For The 21st Century

Effective parent and community involvement in a school setting does not just happen—it requires effort on the part of the school staff to first establish good relationships with parents and the community and then requires additional effort to maintain and improve these relationships. This is a necessary task for schools to attend to. Good parent and community relations make for a better school experience for everyone connected to the school.

For your final assignment in this course, you will create a parent and community involvement plan. Your plan should be ten to twelve pages in length, not including the title page and reference page. Be sure to include a minimum of five scholarly sources (not including your textbook), cited and referenced in APA style, that support your ideas.

Your plan should address the following items:

1. Describe a philosophy of the plan. Why you are creating this involvement plan?

2. Describe aims of the plan. What you intend to do?

3. Describe goals of the plan. What you intend to accomplish?

4. Describe school resources to implement the plan. Include personnel, materials, and funding.

5. Explain the student role in the plan. What will they be doing?

6. Explain the parent role in the plan. What they will be doing?

7. Explain the role of other community members/organizations in the plan. What will they be doing?

8. Explain actions to gain support for the plan. How will you create and engage support?

9. Explain events to gain support for the plan; include events to gain parent participation and community attendance.

10. Explain how you will evaluate the plan and criteria for success.

Carefully review the Grading Rubric (Links to an external site.) for the criteria that will be used to evaluate your assignment.

Emotional Disability

There are belief’s or arguments that self-contained programs for ED students are a bad idea. The main argument really are: 1) students with social/emotional/behavioral problems are placed in a room with peers who also have similar problems/needs and just pick up more, different, or worse problematic behaviors, and 2) when we place students with social/emotional/behavioral needs in one setting they never have a chance to engage in social or observational learning of appropriate behavior.
