Family Relations

Read Balswick, Fourth Edition, Part 7 (chapters 19 and 20) and answer the following questions. Single space acceptable, but leave a space between questions.

1. What do you think the authors mean by “the erosion of biblical truth” in their title of Chapter 19?

2. What is “modernity” and why is it challenging? What is the meaning of “post-modern?” Pages 339-341

3. Define and summarize the four dimensions of sociocultural life. Pages 342-343

4. Explain the dilemmas and false hopes that modernity often brings upon the family? Pages 346-352

5. Discuss whether and how a family might escape the bondage of commodities. Pages 352-359

6. Explain the possible reconstruction of community in relationship to family life. Pages 360-361

7. What is the importance of revitalized communication and consciousness? Pages 361-362

8. What support structures are helpful to ensure solid family life? Pages 363-369.

9.  Traditionally, most churches have taken a very hard stand on the subject of divorce and remarriage, even forbidding remarriage and denying membership to people with “tainted” marital backgrounds. In a previous chapter (pages 311-312) the authors make a statement on the Christian approach to divorce. Discuss how Christians and churches as communities should respond to divorce, both among their members and those seeking membership. (This answer should be longer than the others)

Safety In The Lab

  • This week, let’s look at safety and policies in the lab environment. Safety in the workplace is extremely important. Several government agencies oversee this in addition to corporate or business policies.
  • What is the difference between guidelines and regulations?
  • Where would you look to find rules and regulations in order to meet compliance?
  • Provide an example of what is regulated in a lab environment and include the regulation regarding it.

Lesson 6 Assignment-

PLEASE SEE ATTACHED TREATMENT PLAN ASSIGNMENT-6 TO COMPLETE THIS ONE

Please choose one of the following vignettes to complete this assignment.

Tanya is a 10-year-old Hispanic, female who was referred by her teacher to meet with the School Social Worker. Tanya’s teacher reported that Tanya often plays by herself at recess and lunch and always seems nervous around the other children in her classroom. Tanya is reserved and feels anxious about meeting with the Social Worker.

OR

Samantha is a 30-year-old, Hispanic female who has just lost custody of her two children (ages 3, 5). Child Protective Services (CPS) became involved after a neighbor reported concerns of neglect and substance use by Samantha. Samantha confirmed regular use of methamphetamine though reported wanting to get help for her children. CPS also found that there was limited food in the home and other safety concerns.  The neighbors also reported the children were often outside for extended periods of time without supervision. The children have temporarily been placed in a foster home.

Using one of the above vignettes, please complete the treatment plan based on this information. You may find it helpful to role-play the scenario with someone you know.

Please make sure to double-check spelling and grammar before submitting.

For this assignment, please use the following treatment plan template-ATTACHED.

Please list three potential SMART treatment goals and complete all sections of the treatment plan (problems, goals, and interventions).

SWK103- SOCIAL WORK & DEVIANT BEHAVIOR

Topic: Differential Association Theory

Lesson 5A Discussion

Application of Theory: Provide two examples to your classmates on how the Differential Association Theory explains deviant behavior. There is no minimum length, just be sure to provide two examples with explanations.

Lesson 5B Discussion

Differential Association Theory argues that people learn how to engage in criminal behavior in the same way (using the same mechanisms) as they learn how to do anything else in life. I want you to think about how you came to have the morals and values that you have today. Think about the person you are today, and then think about how you came to these morals and values. What people/groups influenced you to act in deviant ways and what people/groups influenced you to act in non-deviant ways. How did they achieve this? Discuss what each group considered normal and deviant and how you learned from them.

This discussion should be a minimum of 1 page (250 words).

Lesson 6 Assignment

Discuss the criticism against Differential Association Theory. In your opinion, explain whether or not you believe they are valid (Material is found in Lesson 5 Readings and Videos component). The minimum length expectation is 1-2 pages. APA format is required.

Living A Feminist Live

The reading this week is Chapter 6 and Conclusions 1 & 2 in Living a Feminist Life by Sara Ahmed. Your responses to the reading are due 10pm on wednesday

there are two readings as attached below. By Sara Ahmed

NB: Reflect on the two readings in alignment with  Intersectionality portrayed as understandings of social locations as central to peoples lived experiences as influenced by the interaction of categories such as gender, class, race, ethnicity, sexuality, age, disability/ability, migration status, etc. It further recognises that these interactions are situated within interconnected power structures including government, media and economics. Intersectionality, therefore theorises how forms of oppression and privilege such as patriarchy, racism, colonialism, homophobia and ableism arise. Intersectionality foregrounds the achievement of social justice through social processes, redistribution and equity.

Developing State Health System Assessment

Select a low- or middle-income country of interest and assess its health system. Address the following:

  1. Apply a systems thinking tool, such as a causal diagram or process map, to identify opportunities for how gaps in public health services can be bridged through a strong health system.
  2. Describe the major components of the health system.
  3. Discuss core services the health system provides and who manages them (government, private sector, a mix of both, etc.).
  4. Discuss who is responsible for paying for those services or who funds the provided services.
  5. Explain how the selected systems thinking tool can be applied to better address an infectious disease in the selected country.

Family Relations

Student should begin early in the course by reading pages 11-38 of THE BLESSING by Gary Smalley and John Trent. This will provide an understanding of the concept of “a blessing” and how such a technique can be employed in the context of family enrichment. Then during this preliminary reading, the student will then select an individual (more than one is acceptable, but not recommended) to be the recipient of “the blessing.”

Over the course of several weeks, the student will read further and make practical application of the elements of the Blessing, making notes along the way. The objective is to employ the various elements of “the blessing” as described by the authors in such a way as to experience new levels of awareness of the needs and feelings of others and to enhance the relationship with the selected family member(s). Ideally, this should be a healthy and positive experience for both the student and the recipient(s) of the student’s blessing.

Assignment 8 consists of a report (5 to 6 pages, double spaced) of your personal application of and experience with “the Blessing” as a project of this course. Identify the individual(s) you selected to be the recipient(s) of your blessing, and how you went about applying each element for this assignment. Discuss whether anything about the project was negative or uncomfortable, and what about it was positive and beneficial. Also relate how you plan to adapt it to your own family life in the future.

Please note: This is not a book report. It is a discussion of your own practical application of the principles of the Blessing, planned and carried out specifically for this course assignment.
