Suppose you were going to create your own study to examine what course-delivery format (online, blended, or face-to-face) leads to the best performance in a psychological statistics class. In a paper identify the following for your study:

  • What is your research question?
  • What is your hypothesis (both null and alternate)?
  • Is this a qualitative or quantitative design (based on type of variable collected) and why?
  • Is this a descriptive, correlational or experimental design and why?
  • What would be an example of a variable for this study that could be measured on a nominal scale? Ordinal scale? Interval scale? Ratio scale?
  • Once you have collected your data, would you use inferential or descriptive statistics and why?
  • Create a sample frequency distribution for one of the variables. Choose either a simple or grouped frequency distribution and explain your choice.

While it has always existed, bullying and cyberbullying has become a major problem in middle childhood and adolescence.  I have included a great resource regarding this topic. Take a moment to look over some of the items on the website. After viewing the website, reading this week’s material, and reflecting on your own experiences, create a thread that addresses the harmful effects and possible solutions to bullying and cyberbullying.

Here are some prompts to get you started:

  • How was bullying dealt with when you were younger? How is it dealt with today?
  • Where do bullies fit in the system of popular and unpopular children?

Societies have been using punishment as a way to affect behavior for centuries. The question must be asked of the benefits of punishment to direct actions and deter crime. After reading the required textbook chapters for this week, evaluate public issues that criminal organizations face in ethical decision making. In your response,

Evaluate the morality of punishment for actions;

Pretend you are a hospital counselor in a meeting with the administration. A presentation is given concerning how there seems to be a high-stress level at the hospital that is negatively affecting many employees’ health. You have been asked to create a poster that can be placed in various places around the hospital that will offer tips on stress, lifestyle, and overall health.
