Without referring to the choreographer’s name, describe in detail one of the dances you observed in the short Modern dance video clips.  Include costuming, sound (music? text? silence?), types of movements being performed, levels, shapes, dynamics, etc.  Be as detailed as possible! The reader should be able to visualize the dance and guess which clip you are referring to.

Respond to two other students’ posts and see if you can if you can determine which choreographer’s piece they are writing about!

Respond To The Following Questions:

The parties involved in this critical thinking assignment’s social contract theory are predominantly: the United States government, the Fuyao Glass Industry Group, and the American workers and citizens of Dayton, Ohio, where the closed General Motors plant was reopened as the Fuyao Glass plant. As explained before the documentary was started, America’s role as a global superpower was established post-WWII and was maintained from an industrial standpoint until the practice of outsourcing began to dominate industrial corporate practices in the 1980s onward. The Chinese government is Communist and therefore takes a much different approach to promoting industry in its country than in America. While America purports to be a democracy with a free enterprise stance on businesses and markets, what role do you feel the American government should have with providing and / or securing employment for its citizens?
The production company behind the funding and distribution for this documentary is Higher Ground Productions. Higher Ground Productions is a production company established by Barack and Michelle Obama, after former president Obama left office. With the current political administration’s slogan of “Make American Great Again,” do you feel there is any bias being presented in this documentary? What is the overall issue (problem) this documentary is addressing? What is this documentary’s claim?
As noted in the two articles assigned for this critical thinking assignment (“Chinese Drones Made in America One Company’s Plan to Win Over Trump” and “Coming to America Chinese Textile Companies”), America (since the early 2010s) is beginning to experience something called reverse outsourcing. Because of the economic climate in many areas of the United States, and the industrial infrastructure many American cities have (for example, all the shuttered factories and desperate workforce), foreign companies are now bringing their manufacturing jobs back into the United States. However, as we saw in the documentary, workers are being paid roughly a third of what they used to make when they worked for American companies, and any discussion of unions is categorically discouraged. Where do you assess America’s role on the global stage today? Where do you see America’s position in the world twenty years from now? Can America compete on the same level with China, given each workforce’s practices?
Would you want to work at Fuyao Glass plant? Why or why not? Explain your answer.

Financial Sustainability & Value Analysis

Part I

Healthcare organizations must be economically viable to implement and maintain policies. The cost-benefit analysis measures viability and highlights when or where changes need to be made to ensure financial sustainability. Find a healthcare company (department or company-wide) of your choosing and in a minimum of 250 words examine the financial policy within that company that supports or negates sustainability (i.e., cost, benefit, and outcome). Provide a rationale for your position.

Must use at least one scholarly source and document all sources in APA style.

Part II

Assessing value in health care is based on the outcome. The policy that is implemented to analyze value must be one that is specific to the healthcare organization and must address the value issues (i.e., past, current, and forecasted). It is important to note that ethics and values are both inclusive and exclusive of each other in terms of policy; from both the stance of “professional decision-making” and “policy analysis.” In a minimum of 250 words, discuss the following:

Review the “General Requirements for Informed Consent” in the attachment.

Create an Informed Consent (for a hypothetical human subject research) using items 1 – 8 under Section A in the attachment.

Must use at least one scholarly source and document all sources in APA style.

Implementation Of Strategy

Healthcare organizations require astute handling of strategy implementation. The processes must be followed with a contingency plan in place for failed strategic objectives leading to the goal.

Review the stages of implementation in the attachment.

Review “340B Drug Pricing Program Oversight” case in the attachment.

Provide a written analysis of the implementation phases that were used/excluded in the “340B Drug Pricing Program Oversight” case.

Explain what the literature (external scholarly source) suggest(s) regarding health implementation strategy regarding drug pricing.

Conclude with a summary of your research.

Must be four to six double-spaced pages in length (not including title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style.

Must use at least four scholarly sources in addition to the attached source (McLaughlin, C. P., & McLaughlin, C. D. (2014). Health policy analysis: An interdisciplinary approach (2nd ed.). Jones & Bartlett Learning.)

Must document all sources in APA style

Compare health education and health promotion and provide an example of each. How do health promotion programs address health disparities and health equity? What impact have the Healthy People initiative and the Affordable Care Act had on health promotion and health equity in public health?

Describe the three levels of prevention for health promotion programs and the role of stakeholders in each level. Using the CDC Community Guide, identify and describe an example of a primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention strategy applied in health promotion and disease prevention for a health issue that interests you.

What is a needs assessment? Discuss the purpose of a needs assessment and the steps involved in conducting a needs assessment. Describe examples of primary data, secondary data, and other evidence that you would collect or review in order to identify the needs of the target population you identified for your project.

Considering the health issue and target population you have identified, describe some ways in which the target population and key stakeholders can be involved in a needs assessment for your project. Describe specific opportunity for cross-cultural community collaboration and/or partnership. What principles of servant leadership can be applied to this collaboration to build leadership and support the community?

Describe a program planning model used in public health. Discuss key elements of the model and why program planning models are used in developing programs. Provide an example from the research literature as to how this program planning model has been applied to a health promotion program.

Compare two health behavior theories or models that relate to a health issue that interests you. Which theory/model best supports this health issue and why? How can that theory/model inform the development of a program for that health issue?

What relationship do goals and objectives have in the program planning process? Define SMART criteria as it relates to writing program objectives. Write a process objective and an outcome objective statement using the SMART criteria for an intervention program aimed at reducing childhood obesity in a low-income African American community.

Describe the key factors you believe are most important in selecting different types of interventions to achieve program objectives. For the objectives you developed in DQ1 this week, identify an evidence-based, culturally appropriate intervention to address childhood obesity in a low-income African American community.

Consider the following scenario: the community assessment team you have been working with would like you to give a presentation at their next meeting about available options that can be considered for funding of your proposed program. Compare available options for funding a public health program and explain which would be best for your proposed program.

Describe the key elements of a grant proposal based on the information in your textbook. What is the value and purpose of a statement of need? Imagine you are preparing a grant proposal for your project, and you are tasked with preparing a statement of need. What kind of information would you include in your statement of need to convey to the funder why the program is necessary?

Discuss the function of action plans, logic models, and timelines in program implementation. How can these tools help with the transition from planning to implementation? Describe an example of a challenge that can be encountered during the program implementation phase and how you can overcome that challenge.

Compare and contrast public sources of funding (i.e., local, state, or federal government) and private sources of funding (i.e., nonprofit, foundation, etc.) for public health programs. Which of these types of funding would be appropriate for your proposed program/intervention? Describe common challenges and barriers to seeking funding for programs/interventions and ideas for overcoming those challenges and barriers.

Compare the key elements and purpose of formative evaluations (needs assessment and process evaluation) and summative evaluations (impact and outcome evaluation). Which type of evaluation is best for your program/intervention? Provide a rationale for your response.

Review the evaluation frameworks discussed in your textbook. How do evaluation frameworks help guide a program evaluation? What are the key differences between these frameworks? Which framework would you choose to guide the evaluation of your program? Provide a rationale for your response.

Revisit the SMART objectives you developed for your program. What kind of data would you need to collect during the program evaluation phase to determine whether the program met its objectives? Describe the data collection methods you would use during your program evaluation.

Evaluation reports are often provided to funders, staff, and other key stakeholders once an evaluation has been completed. Imagine you are preparing an evaluation report after completion of your program evaluation. What information would you include in the report? How could you use the findings from your evaluation to engage stakeholders and build support for your program?

Assessing Data

you will complete a series of assignments that mirror the steps required for the successful planning, implementation and evaluation of a project intervention for a public health promotion or disease prevention program.  The overall steps for developing an evidence-based project intervention include:

1. Assessment of a target population and health issue

2. Selection of public health theory to inform evidence-based intervention

3. Development of a SMART plan

4. Development of program implementation plan and identification of stakeholders

5. Selection of evaluation for intervention

6. Development of evaluation and stakeholder engagement plan

You will use the information from each assignment to further assist in the development of each upcoming assignment. By the culmination of the course, you will have outlined the specific activities necessary to create a realistic intervention for a public health project designed to reach an attainable goal for a select target population.

For this assignment, you will complete the first step of this project with an assessment of a target population or community and a health issue. In a narrative of 1,000-1,250 words, address each of the following parts of the community needs assessment:

1. Describe the public health issue to be assessed.

2. Describe the community and region to be assessed: Your community can be defined by geography (i.e., neighborhood, city, state, etc.) and/or by specific target population (i.e., immigrants, race/ethnic group, elderly, etc.).

3. Identify population needs and assets that influence the health issue for this community. Provide evidence to support the identified needs and assets. Sources of data include past published community needs assessments; county health rankings, BRFSS, state government agencies, chambers of commerce, nonprofit organizations, community health centers.

4. Describe health disparities that exist and discuss what drives those disparities (policies, cultural norms, systems, etc.).

5. Describe cultural needs: Discuss the cultural values and practices that will need to be considered in the design of a program for this community.

6. Describe overall challenges and barriers to addressing the public health issue with this community.

You are required to cite to three to five sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria and public health content.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide

Concert Critique Guidelines A critique is a statement of your point of view. You should develop your ideas so that the reader can visualize and understand the dance as you observed the performance

Format: Your paper should be a five paragraph essay, typed in MLA format, size 12 Times New Roman font, double-spaced, with one-inch margins. Make sure to proofread and make necessary revisions.  You will be graded on format, spelling, and grammar.

Paragraph One:  Introduction State the “who, what, where, when” of the performance.  Briefly describe the company and the choreographer.

Paragraph Two:  Description This paragraph should communicate how the dance looked and sounded. Describe the dance in detail focusing on the elements of time, space, and energy.  Include costuming, lighting, music, text, sounds, props, and anything else on the stage (sculptures, sets, etc.).  Look for interrelationships among the movement, such as repetition and variation of the movement theme, organization into clear sections, and the relationships of the dancers. How does the dance relate to the audience? Is the energy projected out or does it draw the spectator in?

Paragraph Three:  Analysis This is your interpretation of the dance.  State the dance genre and style (remember that many contemporary choreographers combine different styles).   Determine the  choreographer’s intent.  Is the dance narrative, non-narrative, improvisation, or abstract?  Do you believe that the choreographer chose to allow the medium of movement to be the message or does the movement tell a story or convey a specific message or statement?

Paragraph Four:   Evaluation This paragraph conveys how well the choreographer fulfilled his/her intent.  Your personal opinion and judgment is the basis for this paragraph.  Was the dance successful?  Why or why not?  Was the choreographer successful in communicating an overall idea? Were the dancers technically proficient at performing the work?  How did the lighting, set design, costumes, and music enhance or diminish the dance?  Although your opinions are important here, be aware of your own biases.  Be specific in supporting your likes and dislikes.

Paragraph Five:  Context/ Conclusion  How does this dance connect to other dance performances that you have experienced or learned?   How does it connect to dance history and current trends of dance making?  Would you recommend this performance to others?  Would you attend more performances by this company or by other dance companies in the future?  How did this experience affect your ideas about dance as an art form?

A Few Tips :Be on the lookout for unsupported general statements like “This dance was very pleasing and beautiful to me. I liked it very much.” When you see such an unsupported statement, ask yourself “why” and then fill in the rest of the paragraph to explain your point.

What are first reactions and what do you remember most? Do not be afraid to be honest with your opinion.  Avoid being vague– “The dancers were good.” Remember you are reviewing not reporting. There are no “wrong” responses.  Narrow your thesis. Do not write a summary of every dance in the concert. Limit your writing to only the most important material. After seeing the concert, you may find that one or two works, or something about the style of the choreographer in general is most interesting, evocative, provocative, intriguing, etc.—this is where you should center your writing. What interested you most? What made you feel the most? What made you most want to get up and move? These ideas will make the assignment more interesting for you to write, and more interesting for me to read.
while you watch the concert, it may be helpful to be aware of several possible issues on which you might focus your paper.

Does this dance make me feel anything? —Good, bad, uncomfortable? Even if you don’t know why, don’t discard the emotions or physical sensations your mind or body is feeling while you watch a dance. Do your best to describe them anyway. Sometimes, dance can evoke feelings directly, as if bypassing the brain. You may not ever truly understand where they come from, but they are still worth addressing, even if only in the form of a question.

Does the piece communicate to you? Look at the title, any program notes, the costumes, the lighting—does it seem as though it is meant to tell a specific story or theme? Maybe not—consider that some dance work is not meant to be narrative and is for pure design, architecture, sculpture—something more abstract than a story. However, even in this case, it still may say something to YOU.

Avoid looking for what you think the dance is “supposed” to mean, rather concentrate more on what it is to you.  As for looking for “meaning,” I find it helpful to think that watching dance is more like reading a poem than like reading a play. Often choreographers use movement as a metaphor since it cannot easily “say” things in the same kind of intellectual detail as words.

Stay focused on YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE.  Be Subjective; write in the first person “I felt,” “I saw,” “this meant to me…” Avoid pretending that you are writing an objective observation of a factual event. Everything you see goes through your own private filter. Yes, there may be similarities in how people respond to common events, but I am most interested in what your personal experience is, not what you think is the norm or the common view. Just do your best to honestly offer your own perspective, both with the humility to recognize that others will have equally valid differing opinions, but also with the confidence that your take on it is just as good or “right” as a New York Times critic.

Strategic Planning

In this assignment, you consider how leaders can engage in a strategic planning process with stakeholders to develop a plan to guide the organization’s evolution and development for the long-term. Since strategic planning should engage persons who will be affected by an organization’s decisions (e.g., staff, administration, board members, members of the community), it is important to include key stakeholders in the planning process so that it reflects their perspectives and interests.

For this Assignment, think about how you would begin the strategic planning process for a human services organization. Consider the human services organizations for which you have worked either in your fieldwork or as an employee. Based on what you know about a particular organization, what steps might you take to establish a plan for the organization’s long-term development?

Assignment (2–4 pages in APA format): Describe the first three steps you would take to begin the strategic planning process for a human services organization. Be sure to include the key stakeholders—who should be involved in each step and why they need to be included in the process. In addition, include steps you would take to establish stakeholder support and confidence.

Note: Although you will base your strategic plan on what you know about an actual organization, do not include any identifying information about the organization or its stakeholders.
